Hoy nuestro entrevistado internacional es una persona de una trayectoria académica, científica y gremial excelente, un fraterno amigo de la Enfermería paraguaya con años de contribución al fortalecimiento de la profesión a través de diferentes proyectos de cooperación con el Consejo General de Enfermería de España.
José Luis Cobos, vicepresidente III del Consejo General de Enfermería, Doctor en Enfermería y representará a Europa del Sur en la ejecutiva del CIE.
La elección de José Luis Cobos se ha producido durante la reunión del Consejo de Representantes de las Asociaciones Nacionales de Enfermería (CRN), del Consejo Internacional de Enfermeras (CIE), en la Asamblea General de esta organización internacional conformado por organizaciones de Enfermería de 130 países que han elegido a los representantes que van a integrar la nueva Junta Directiva del Consejo Internacional de Enfermeras que es el máximo órgano de gobierno de esta institución mundial con más de 120 años de existencia. Junto a José Luis Cobos conforman la nueva Junta, 10 representantes más de asociaciones de todo el mundo entre ellas la Dra. Eloísa Barahone, de El Salvador, por la región de América, que estarán presididos por la estadounidense Dra. Pamela Cipriano.
Ambos representantes de habla hispana expresaron que el cargo supone “un reto personal” como profesional muy importante. El organismo, que representa a todas las enfermeras en el mundo, es el Consejo Internacional de Enfermeras y estar en su Junta Directiva “es todo un honor”, han señalado agradecidos y orgullosos por el reconocimiento de las asociaciones nacionales de todo el mundo por haberles elegido.
Como nuevo miembro de la junta directiva del máximo órgano de gobierno de la enfermería mundial, José Luis Cobos cree que hay mucho trabajo por hacer. “Es cierto que hemos pasado unos tiempos muy difíciles, donde hemos podido hacer visible la enfermería, no sólo en cada uno de los países sino también en las instituciones internacionales, y ahí es donde tenemos que poner la fuerza; creo que las enfermeras y enfermeros en todo el mundo tienen que tomar un papel relevante en sus sistemas sanitarios”, señaló.
Pero más allá de la visibilidad de la profesión, hay muchos retos en función de las áreas donde nos encontremos. Hay zonas del mundo, sobre todo aquellas donde hay conflictos bélicos, donde la enfermería está sufriendo muchísimo, enfatizó

Se refirió a que la falta de enfermeras es un problema que tenemos a nivel mundial y deberemos trabajar en este tema en los próximos años, ya que la situación puede ser crítica para muchos sistemas sanitarios. En los países más avanzados también hay que desarrollar competencialmente el compromiso de las enfermeras en los sistemas sanitarios, de tal forma que estemos en los órganos de gobierno, donde se deciden las políticas sanitarias. Es muy importante que las enfermeras asuman esa responsabilidad y que asuman también cargos políticos”, ha destacado.
