El último domingo de abril, el gremio de la enfermería paraguaya fue sacudido por la terrible noticia de la muerte de una joven enfermera en el Hospital Distrital de Mariano Roque Alonso. Un equipo médico utilizado para esterilizar instrumentos hospitalarios explotó y causó la muerte de la licenciada Claudia Samudio, de 51 años, y madre de 4 hijos. El aparato que explotó fue un equipo esterilizador utilizado para equipos de quirófano e indumentarias del personal de blanco en el centro asistencial.
“Lamentamos lo acontecido explosión de una autoclave, dejó como víctima a una enfermera con 4 hijos. Nos solidarizamos con la familia. Repudiamos la inseguridad laboral y exigimos las condiciones necesarias establecidas en la Ley de enfermería”, fue el reclamo de la Asociación Paraguaya de Enfermería (APE) a pocas horas de darse a conocer la terrible noticia.
En una entrevista publicada en el Diario La Nación de esa fecha, la presidenta de la APE, la licenciada Mirna Gallardo, señaló que nunca vivió un caso similar en sus más de dos décadas de experiencia. En ese sentido, pidió a la Fiscalía una rápida investigación sobre las condiciones del equipo médico y agregó que enviarán una nota al ministro de Salud, Julio Borba, para exigir seguridad en los puestos laborales del personal de blanco.
En la extensa entrevista, varios medios de comunicación se hicieron eco de las expresiones de la presidenta “Hay que investigar si el equipo estaba en condiciones, además si se le realizaba un constante mantenimiento ya que se trata de un aparato altamente delicado. En mis 25 años nunca escuché este tipo de situaciones. Pedimos que se vea de qué tiempo es el equipo y si ya tenía sus años de vida útil”, expresó Gallardo.
Según las informaciones divulgadas por varios medios de comunicación en la fecha, el equipo ya presentaba fallas por lo que niegan que se haya tratado de un accidente laboral. “Yo digo que es negligencia y que en el hospital no se percatan si los equipos funcionan o no le dan importancia. No tenemos salida de emergencia. Estoy shockeada, me duele mucho lo que le pasó a la compañera”, expresó Marcelina Núñez.
El área donde ocurrió el hecho fue aislada por la Fiscalía que recién mañana a las 10:30 realizará un peritaje para conocer lo ocurrido en el accidente que le costó la vida a la enfermera con más de 20 años de servicio como profesional. En ese sentido, Gallardo cuestionó el lento accionar del Ministerio Público.
“Vamos a enviar una nota para exigir seguridad en el trabajo. Se debe hacer una investigación en todos los servicios de Asunción y el interior del país. Realmente es una pena que un acontecimiento como este no sea investigado de manera inmediata. La compañera deja 4 hijos huérfanos y ella era el sostén de la familia, su hija menor tiene 12 años”, afirmó la vocera del personal de enfermería en contacto con La Nación.
